<b>MIGRAÇÕES INFANTIS E O REGIME ONUSIANO DE PROTEÇÃO DOS DIREITOS HUMANOS</b><br/>CHILD MIGRATION AND THE UNITED NATIONS RE-GIME FOR THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS

Resumo

A migração internacional faz parte do cotidiano de centenas de milhares de crianças ao redor do globo. Todavia, apesar das crianças muitas das vezes procurarem ativamente oportunidades de migração, desde a decisão de migrar até a trajetória e chegada na localidade de destino, elas podem se expor à diversos riscos. Desta maneira, esta investigação objetiva identificar a relação entre as migrações infantis e os regimes internacionais de proteção dos direitos humanos, mais especificamente o papel que o sistema global das Nações Unidas exerce na garantia do melhor interesse e dos direitos da criança migrante. O método que se adota é o dedutivo com o apoio da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. As principais conclusões desta investigação foram que apesar da existência de princípios, normas, regras e procedimentos de tomada de decisão destinados à proteção dos direitos da criança migrante no âmbito do sistema global da ONU, estes mecanismos ainda necessitam de maior fortalecimento.
